The pebble is the latest in the line of small, user friendly MP3 players that are portable and sporty enough for people on the go. The Pebble comes with a multitude of features that make it a must have item. The player is compact, holds 1 GB of songs, and battery life of up to 13 hours.

The Samsung YP-S2 Pebble comes in an assortment of stylish colors for those looking for something other than black or silver. The colors range from black and silver, to magenta, deep blue, and stone color. The size of the Pebble, only about two times bigger than a quarter, and made to look like a beach pebble, makes it easy for running errands, working out, or just lounging around the house. The Pebble uses a Windows Vista interface which makes it easy to drag and drop favorite music files from your computer to your MP3 player. On the side of the pebble there is a USB port, and the accompanying flash drive is used to connect the Pebble to the user’s home computer. The computer comes with the necessary drivers and “Media Studio”, which is Samsungs default media player. However; Media Studio is not needed to run the MP3 player. Any number of media will work, including iTunes and Windows Media Player. The Pebble supports MP3 and WMA files.

The Pebble holds up to 1 GB of music. While this is equivalent to an iPod shuffle, the iPod nanos come in 2, 4 and 8 GB. The advantage of the Pebble is that is functional and easy to use. There is no LCD screen, but the Pebble has an LED light with power controls, and easy to use buttons that allow for fast manipulation. Samsung has also used superior sound in this ultra tiny MP3 PLAYER. The Pebble uses DNSe (Digital Nature Sound Engine) technology that provides for a more realistic, natural, yet bigger sound. The DSNe feature on the player can be used with the accompanying earphones, or any choice of ear phones. The aim of DNSe is to improve sound quality through bass and volume.

A light display is also a feature of The Samsung YP-S2 Pebble. The Pebble uses a LED light effect display that can be used based on the playback mode the user chooses. The pebble goes beyond listening to music and makes it an atmospheric experience. The battery life of a pebble lasts up to 13hrs. The battery can be recharged by placing the Pebble into the USB port of a computer, or there is a charger available. The price of the 1GB is $39.99, and a 2GB is rumored to be coming out also. The Pebble can be a great addition exercising, around the office, or simply in the comfort of home. MP3 players have come a long way, and the The Samsung YP-S2 Pebble shows it.

The craze for the Apple iPhone is about to get even hotter. The iPhone 3G is expected to be released July 11. The new phone is being advertised as better, and less expensive. The phone will incorporate the same internet technology; it will use the same data provider, AT&T, and have the same functionality that the 2G had. So, what makes the new IPhone 3G, well, so new? The answer: everything. Apple has upgraded the wireless broadband system, integrated Microsoft exchange Email functionality, and raised the storage and quality of the built in iPod.

At 4’x3’ and weighing 4.7 ounces, the IPhone 3G is slimmer and more compact for users. The 3G integrates the newest technology for clearer calls and better functionality for touch screen calling. Telephone numbers can be accessed from contacts, text messages or any other of the phone with simply a tap of the screen. The contacts sync with a user’s home pc ever time they connect. The phone offers call waiting and conference calling. The 3G offers a built in stereo headset with advanced microphone that allows for crystal clear calling. Visual voicemail is also an advanced new feature. Users can see their voice mails in the order they are received and can choose the ones they want to listen to, in the order they want to listen to them.

The new IPhone will use the Safari web browser with Wi-Fi capability. The wireless connection allows a user to sync his or her bookmarks from their home pc directly to their I Phone. It also allows for faster speed while browsing. Another new feature is that Yahoo and Google search engines will automatically be integrated into the Safari browser. The phone will sync with Microsoft Exchange which will allow users to access multiple email accounts. The look and functionality will be exactly as it is in Outlook Express, and will sync with your accounts.

The built in IPod on the new 3G will boast an 8 GB or 16 GB flash drive for maximum storage of music and movies. With a 3.5’ display screen, users will be able to browse their favorite music simply by touch scrolling through their digital archive. The IPod will support ITunes so that music can be bought and downloaded directly from ITunes. The music will also sync from their home pc. The new IPhone will support the same file formats: AAC, WAV, MPG and Apple Lossless. There is also a widescreen format that allows users to watch movies in widescreen format. The Phone includes upgraded picture resolution in 480×320 pixels for premium viewing quality.

The 3G comes at a less steep price. The iPhone 3G will be introduced in 2 models, the 8g and the 16 GB. The 8 GB will only be available in black and will retail for $199. The 16 GB will be available in black and white and will go for $299. AT&T will still be the only carrier for the iPhone, and have specific data and voice rates starting at $30/month for data and $39.99/month for voice.

Trent Reznor has announced that the latest Nine Inch Nails album titled ‘The Slip‘ was free to the world. Once again Trent has chosen to release the new collection using the Internet on the NIN official site. All the normal formats are available including MP3, FLAC, M4A, and high definition WAV. The MP3s are available in a zip file and the rest, due to the size, have been seeded via bit torrent.

Here’s a snippet from the Official Nine Inch Nails website:

As a thank you to our fans for your continued support, we are giving away the new nine inch nails album one hundred percent free, exclusively via nin.com.

There are also rumors of an album release on CD and vinyl in July. Until then continue to show your support and appreciation of NIN by leeching and spreading it around. When you choose to download your files, please give back to the torrent community by allowing the files to remain open and available for seeding.

The switch is prefabricated of microscopic molecule clusters just .32 nanometers apart, which could theoretically allow for up to one billion transistors on an area no large than a quarter.

According to the BBC, the researchers are able to ingest the switch on both carbon and gold surfaces, message in the forthcoming they might be able to ingest plastic instead of fragile silicon for circuit boards.

The advancement could lead to massive storage capacities for smaller devices, and the researchers estimate it could lead to an MP3 player with a capacity of up to 500,000 gigabytes, which is 500 terabytes. To place it in perspective, the biggest 3.5″ internal hornlike drive available today is a mere 1 terabyte.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the recent announcement by IBM of its own nanotechnology-based Racetrack Memory.
